We at Andiamo® believe that shoes have the power to transform. Since our founding in 1982 in Los Angeles, California, we’ve dedicated ourselves to bringing joy, confidence, and comfort to our customers’ lives through our innovative and stylish footwear designs for women and men.
Our company was started by husband and wife duo, Marco and Sophia Rossi, who shared a passion for shoes and a vision to create footwear that made people feel their best. As recent immigrants from Italy, Marco and Sophia were inspired by the craftsmanship and elegance of Italian shoe design. But they saw an opportunity to take comfort and wearability to the next level for the American market.
After getting their start by selling shoes at local flea markets and craft fairs, the Rossis opened the first Andiamo® store on Melrose Avenue. With Sophia’s keen eye for fashion and Marco’s relentless drive for perfection, their shoes quickly gained a following for being equal parts beautiful and blissfully comfortable.
Our Heritage and Values
Andiamo® has always been and remains a family affair. Marco and Sophia’s three children Gina, Paulo, and Maria grew up in and around the business. Today, Gina and Maria head up our product design and development teams, while Paulo oversees our retail stores.

Our Design Process
To consistently deliver the quality, comfort, and style our customers love takes careful attention at every stage of design. Our talented in-house team works in sync from first sketch to finished product.
The design process starts with identifying trends and tapping into our creators’ visions to imagine the next season’s collections. We look at runway shows, street style blogs, fashion magazines, and customer feedback to explore what materials, textures, colors, and silhouettes we should play with.
Next, the initial concept sketches get transformed through rounds of refinement until the team lands on prototypes we’re excited about. Our makers then source premium leathers, textiles, hardware and components from Italy and across the globe. Specialized Italian workshops craft the prototypes by hand.
Once samples are produced, we have our fit models test out the comfort and wear. The designers analyze how the shoes move and fit to identify any tweaks needed before approving them for production. We also rely on customer test groups to provide feedback on comfort, style, and areas for improvement.
It takes many samples and iterations before we finalize a design. Our shoemakers inspect each batch for quality craftsmanship and consistency. If the shoes pass our stringent standards, they get packaged in our signature box and shipped out to our stores and delighted customers.
This thoughtful approach allows us to innovate on comfort while hitting the sweet spot between quality, function, and fashion in every pair.
Our Materials and Sourcing
We use only premium quality materials sourced responsibly and sustainably when possible. Our leathers come from tanneries in Italy that have supplied luxury brands for generations. Known for their supple feel and beautiful patina over time, these leathers make shoes you’ll treasure.
For textiles, we partner with eco-friendly mills and suppliers. Many of our cottons, linens and synthetics are recycled or sustainably harvested. We also use natural fibers like silk, wool and raffia in our fabric shoes and accessories.
Beyond materials, we focus on ethical, responsible production. Most Andiamo® shoes are handcrafted in heritage Italian workshops committed to fair wages and conditions. When we do produce elsewhere, we audit for safety, fair labor practices, and environmental impact.
We proudly use recycled paper for our tags and packaging. Our signature shoeboxes are made of 80-100% post-consumer recycled kraft paper. As a family business, we aim to have a light footprint on the Earth’s resources.
